CEILING PLASTER DETACHMENT – REPAIR

One of the most common problems, occurring in both old and new homes for various reasons.

CAUSES:

  • Poor or absent roof waterproofing, allowing moisture to penetrate the ceiling and cause deterioration
  • Leak from the upper floor
  • Smooth Plaster Application
  • Plaster applied on an unclean surface

HOW TO IDENTIFY IT:

  • Swelling on the ceiling
  • Cracks
  • Peeling of Plaster and Paint

PREVENTION:

  • Effective Roof Waterproofing and Sealing
  • Proper Waterproofing of Bathrooms and Showers
  • In new homes, concrete must be properly vibrated to ensure adequate coverage of the reinforcement

SOLUTION:

Step 1: All loose and detached materials are carefully removed using a spatula or scraper

Step 2: Thoroughly clean the surfaces and any rusted metal with a wire brush.

Step 3: Application of Reinforcement Primer MSTELL 44 of the MARMOLINE where exposed rusted reinforcement is present

Step 4: For better adhesion, the use of a quartz-based bonding primer is recommended MARMOLINE PRO CONTACT Especially on surfaces with low absorbency

Step 5: Application of Thixotropic Mortar MARMOLINE THIXOCRETE R4

Step 6: Surface Smoothing with Acrylic Putty MARMOLINE ST10
