Description
The Paton ProMIG-250 15-4 welding inverter is designed for semi-automatic MIG/MAG welding using shielding gases and gas mixtures, manual MMA (stick) welding, as well as DC TIG welding with argon.
The ProMIG 250 15-4 model supports the use of 15/18 kg wire spools, while it is also compatible with 5 kg spools. Its four-roll wire feed mechanism ensures stable and reliable wire feeding, even in demanding welding applications.
The device is designed to offer one of the highest levels of protection against external influences on the market, ensuring enhanced durability and reliability in professional working environments.
With a rated current of 250A and a 60% duty cycle, the ProMIG 250 15-4 enables intensive welding of materials up to 6 mm thick without the risk of overheating.
The power source can be detached from the wire feed unit, providing greater flexibility, convenience, and safety during operation.
A key feature of the PATON™ Professional series semi-automatic welding machines is the high-quality metal, hermetically sealed wire feed mechanism, as well as the KZ-2 “EURO” connector, which is a global standard and allows easy replacement of the welding torch depending on the user’s needs.
With its fully electronic control system, the unit fully utilizes all the capabilities of the power source, regardless of the welding method used, always operating within the limits of its maximum output power.
The “Professional” series is designed for industrial use and is intended for the most demanding professional users, offering reliability, high performance, and consistent welding quality.
Functions and Features of the Paton ProMIG-250 15-4 MIG/MAG Welding Inverter
GASLESS MODE – WELDING WITH SELF-SHIELDED WIRE
All PATON MIG/MAG welding machines support welding with flux-cored (self-shielded) wire, without the use of shielding gas.
Unlike the traditional MIG/MAG welding process, this method is performed without a gas cylinder, as it uses a special welding wire that generates its own shielding gas during welding, effectively protecting the arc and the weld seam.
The self-shielded wires compatible with PATON welding machines are available in 5 kg spools and are compatible with all wire feed mechanisms in the series.
BRAZING WELDING – INDUCTANCE ADJUSTMENT
PATON MIG/MAG welding machines from the Standard and PRO series feature brazing capability, thanks to a three-stage inductance adjustment function.
The inductance adjustment allows optimization of the arc characteristics depending on the thickness of the material being welded. This function is essential for controlling the rate of current change during variations in arc voltage.
- For thin materials, a higher inductance setting is recommended, providing a “softer” arc and reduced heat penetration.
- For thicker materials, a lower inductance setting is recommended, providing a “harder” arc and deeper weld penetration.
This function contributes to improved weld quality, better control of the welding process, and reduced material distortion.
