Description

The Hempacore AQ is a water-soluble, acrylic, intumescent thin film coating, single-component and very low VOC emissions, designed for passive fire protection of structural steel against cellulosic fires.

It has been optimised for on-site applications with fire protection requirements up to R60. Shop applications and/or for category R90 may be possible, depending on the project requirements and specifications.

Recommended use

The Hempacore AQ is recommended as intumescent fire protection coating for structural steel in interior environments, up to Type Y (EAD350402-00-1106 / EN 16623) and environmental category C2 (ISO 12944-2).

Suitable for use on:

• I-section beams
• H columns
• Hollow sections
• Cellular beams

It can also be used as repair and touch-up coating for damaged areas of freshly applied Hempacore AQ.
